The cover of the third book of Lloyd Alexander's Westmark trilogy
she is scared but brave
Truth is, I was on a tall ladder and the model was hanging from the huge wrought iron gate. Looks like you got over your nerves to paint Fear of Stars (nice!). Talking about Thomas Blackshear I used to know him when he lived in the SF area. What a great illustrator, but I don't know what he's been up to lately.
Thanks! This one's a mix of traditionaly painted textures and Painter.
Wow! This is amazing! It doesn't look digital at all. What software did you use? I love her hand. It looks like she is grasping onto the edge of the building as if her life depends on it (and it probably does). Amazing work!
haha, michael, that reminds me of a shoot I did long ago in Salt lake City. I wanted some shots of some weird creature carvings near the top of a 20 story building, so I went to the top floor, snuck out a window to a fire escape, climbed up a few stories (in white pants, doofus that I was...and am) and to to the top of the building...and for some reason, chickened out THEN....
*gasp* all i can picture is her falling.. wicked work.
It was tough to get that in the correct perspective. I'm going to upload a close-up for you to check out.
wow,this is digital? respect!!!
an amazing perspective.love the burning boat.congratulations on editors pick.
I think the feeling of danger was a direct chaneling of the model shoot. I was teetering on the top of a ladder and my model was hanging from a huge wrought iron gate!
the perspective and the town looks GREAT! i like your coloring skills. great expression on the face
Fantastic work ,strong feel of dare and danger...
