"Still they fought, beneath the Dragon Gate, as if time had no meaning".
This is a brilliant artwork! Fantastic atmosphere, light and colors. Excellent!!!
Thank you Scott for the kind words. This was one of those rare chances to paint more loosely in Painter. The pressure in the biz is to match the look of 3D programs, which can provide very cool effects but tends to reduce your personal style.
Hi Jeff, good to hear from you. I really like your iron monkey piece. Traditional art isn't dead but there is an imense pressure to deliver a digital file to art directors as it saves them time and money. The down side is that if they know phtoshop they can mess around with the art more easily. Ah well, that's business...
Thanks Stan, over the last couple of years I've had so many jobs that needed armor that I guess I'm starting to get the hang of it.
Thanks for the kind words Kelly. As for the tilt you may be right. My intent was to create a sense of unease, a feeling that the world was on the brink of destruction as well as giving the sword wielding attacker even more downward momentum. But I guess it didn't work for you, c'est la vie!
over a decade ago; you said "Art will be done on computers in the future!" I was skeptical, but bought one as soon as I could afford it (a few years later.) You were ri
Excellent. Great action, atmosphere, lighting, use of color, and rendering. Just a very well done piece of art. Great work.
I like the atmosphere in this piece; it really captures that dark, brooding gothic feel. You have a great, painterly style as well. I'm not so sure the slightly tilted perspective is as effective as I think you intended it; I would either tilt it more or not at all; right now it looks as if it's a mistake in perspective. Just a suggestion, otherwise a really wonderful work.
Wow. Its so cool. Everything about this one is great.
Michel, excellent action. The armor is exceptionally well done. The dragon in the architecture really unites the whole composition. Your work, as always, is great!
i like the color contrast you have in your picture. very nice, i like the quote under it, it gives a story you could imagine
