Artwork Description

This picture is a gift for my supporters and anti-supporters. The pretty boys will never stop.Use this picture in any way you want, as long as it's not commercial, and as long as you do not change it. Use it for roleplay, use it on your website, print it on your wall, or just use it as your desktop paper - it's my gift for you. Just remember to link back to me if it's online. And for those anti-supporters among you, feel free to print it on toilet paper and use it like /that/ if you want to. Just stop sending the results of those efforts to me.Love you all, bests,
L.

Linda, I've been following your work for a looong time now and I must say two things. Firstly, you have been one of my all time favourite artists for a while now. You're style is magnificant. It always leaves me breathless. Secondly, I'm so proud that you're taking such a stand on the issue of the "pretty-boys". This is a beautiful piece and a beautiful statement. No matter what, keep doing what you love. The haters will eventually go away, but your fans will always be here. God...he's soooo pretty!! *drool, gush* Excellent job! Thank you for sharng your work with us, dispite all the hate mail *glares at all the haters ¬_¬* Anyway ^_^ Again, thank you!!! Me loves!

Eternally,
Heather

I saw it and I thought, "That's an interestingly awesome outfit on that fema- oh there's no chest. Oh wait, there's no chest; that's a GUY! LOL!" I'm still grinning about it.

Your form is amazing and so is the coloration (as always ^^). This piece is a refreshing response to all the flack people have been cutting you (sure beats blatant ranting and flaming.)

A little over-done for my visual kei tastes but I understand that's the point.

Love the pic; detest the spider even though it's, admittedly, a nice touch. (I have a HUGE fear of spiders so I can't look at the picture for very long without getting terrible willies.)

The wings look so soft and hair is always a highlight with your art! =D

Never change because a few people can't accept the beauty that you create.

The nerve of some people! I can't believe people would tell you to stop drawing a particular subject or style. Criticism is one thing and it's ok to just not like a style. But, unless someone is paying for a commission, how could they expect an artist to obey any whims but their own.

Linda, I also can't believe that you don't have a website with prints for sale.

This pic will definitely wind up as an NPC in my roleplaying campaign.

Thanks =]

Actually, I am glad that some people are disappointed, and unhappy with the picture. It wasn't meant to please everyone. This was a response to the people who have called me all manners of things and pretty much ordered me to draw buff mean instead of the pretty ones, and it was a gift for those who enjoy the pretty boys. The entire point with it was to go over the edge with it and I'm glad I succeeded with it. Each to his, or her, own - but the point with this picture seems to have struck home. I haven't received a single hatemail about the pretty boys since I posted it.

enayla's picture

Thank you ^___^

enayla's picture

*Smiles* Thank you.

enayla's picture

*Chuckles* Marilyn Manson, eh? *shudders a little* Now, that's one guy who isn't particularly pretty ;] Thanks though.

Linda, I am quite disappionted.I do not mean this in any way to be an insult because I love your work But I think your whole Boy/girl crossing has gone a little over the edge with this picture.I know that is your style and I have respect for that but this isnt going to be a favorite of mine.

daya's picture

Heh heh... you keep posting the pretty boys, and I'll keep posting the pretty girls. Wonderful use of color in this one. The mood is fantastic! And the bodice... corsett... thing... is really well done. I also love the little white highlights you added throughout the picture. Props to you! Wink

maura's picture

Hehe, cool. It reminds me of visual kei, in perticular, Toshiya of Dir en Grey. I have a strange fasination (I think it's amusing too) in cross dressing and stuff, brobably because it's not mainstream. Very cool picture. I love the colours and texture.

Guest's picture

I love how you responded to all of the criticism dished out to you by people blinded by society's view of men. Bravo! I love your art just the way it is and wouldn't want you to change it for anyone. Sometimes femininity is welcomed in men against the dull familiarity of masculine absurdity these days.

Guest's picture

the outfit looks like something marilyn manson wears. its pretty sexy, actually

enayla's picture

One of these days, maybe I'll gather up my work and print it =] We'll see. First, I'm going to find some way to get prints at ALL =] Thank you.

enayla's picture

Well, that's a honest opinion if I ever saw one =] Thank you. Truth to be told, though, this picture wasn't meant to be loved by everyone. I took a theme and pulled it to its extreme - and I giggled like a crazy girl when drawing it. I'm just sorry you couldn't see the humour in it =]

enayla's picture

Oh, I love drawing =] I still would even if nobody but me ever saw the pictures =) I promise I won't ever stop.

He's absolutly beautiful, Linda! This is the first time I've visted your gallery and this is probably my favorite!! I agree with alot of people when they say he looks like a J-rocker, but I also see alot of Brom influnce! I LOVE Brom! I just got his 2nd artbook! ( If you had an artbook I'd buy it in a flash!)

I don't care about what your anti-supporters say about you drawing pretty boys. I draw them too and I totally understand what you probably go through when people diss your work because of that. You know what I say? Rock on, my friend. Don't stop doing what your doing. And all those guys that hate your pretty-boy art...well...lets just say...most likely their probably just jealous that THEY don't look that good ^_~.

Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see what your future artwork will be!^_^

Guest's picture

I just don't like it. I love your other works, though, but this one definitely won't be any of my favourites. Male body with a wanna-be-woman-like face... :\

neondragon's picture

Yes, this is definately fitting of Rocky Horror! I want his outfit >:) Never stop drawing. Granted I want you to keep drawing for the selfish reason that I enjoy looking at your lovely gallery once a week... but I hope that you enjoy it too Wink

enayla's picture

=]

enayla's picture

*Chuckles* Afraid I haven't even seen it. I am trying to get hold of it now because everyone keeps telling me that Katelekai looks like he was fetched straight out of the Rocky Horror thingie. Thankee =)

enayla's picture

You know, I think you're right about the choker. I'll see what I can do about that when I have the time to =)

enayla's picture

Well, glad you like it =]

enayla's picture

Leather is SO difficult to draw *___* Well, at least I think so, I bet there are tons of people out there who can do it without any effort at all. *gnashes teeth jealously*. He's wearing knee high, high heeled, boots of black leather. Laced on the sides =] Thankee.

enayla's picture

Thanks for the crits, Liptak. The only two things referenced in this picture are actually the spider, funnily enough, and part of his chest - because I couldn't place the nipples right for some reason ;] I see what you mean, though. I wanted the spider to look dreamlike, and I guess I made it less realistic than the rest.

enayla's picture

A lot of people have commented on the J-rock thing, but he has nothing to do with that. He is a little inspired by Brom's work, but that's about it - most of it is from my own crooked little mind. Thank you =)

Guest's picture

Yah, you're right.
That's cool.
Cheers!

Guest's picture

This pic reminds me of Rocky Horror Picture Show. Did you have that in mind at all when you drew it, or is the similarity a coincidence? I love your work, so keep it up! And don't narrow-minded people keep you down.

Guest's picture

I just realised that this picture is perfect for my friend's character. Especially with that spider! The spider just matches up with my character. And it's just perfect! O-O And on another note. Someone remind me to ALWAYS turn my contrast up when I'm viewing a picture! I couldn't see the bottom part of the background. And now the spider doesn't look transparent at all. And thank you for the enlarged picture. Now that I can see all the details you put in it. It's just--Wow. The buckles on the corset...Buckles. **DROOLS** And the wings are even more stunning when enlarged and with the contrast of my computer turned up. One thing I noticed though(if you're looking at the enlarged picture)..the choker that he's wearing, near the top it almost blends into the skin..perhaps a bit of shadowing there? Cause it almosts looks like it's melting into his skin. ^^;;

Art at its best.
