Artwork Description

This picture is actually older than the other I uploaded (Myrrun). I don't know why I haven't uploaded it here yet.Telynohn here was one of the original vampires of Aii Chriaston. Cruel and blood thirsty, and with an entire kingdom to torment with whatever games he liked to play with mortals. Eventually, though, it all had to end - as things must, and one individual was sent to fool him. It was someone he would fall for. Someone picked specifically to fit Telynohn's tastes. And he did fall - but the other had to fall for him as well. You see, the vampires -know- how you feel. There is no tricking them. In the end, the one that Telynohn loved, loved him back... but even so ended up betraying him, and trapping him in a chamber for the next three hundred years. Saving the kingdom from his cruelty, and thus betraying two hearts in the process.Check http://www.eyekon.org/~linda/telynohn-closeup.jpg or http://www.eyekon.org/~linda/telynohn-closeup2.jpg for details. It's very very nice. I wish I could meet a guy that looked as good as this one. phew. and the story to go with caught my attention too. Id love to hear a story about it. you know you should read the book called Kushiels Dart by jacqueline Carey. I think you would be great at drawing her characters.

~snickerz softly~ If all the men in the world looked as good as the ones you draw Linda.. we would all be in heaven~grinz~ lovely work. ^_^~nods~ cant wait to see more of your work.

The story that goes along with this picture caught me as much as the art did. I'd love to hear more. Who was Telynohn's love? Who sent that person? Perhaps another work depicting the lover is in the works?

Guest's picture

When you did this, were you thinking of the movie "The Crow"? The whole crow tkaes your soul to the afterlife and whatnot.
PS: I love it, he looks dead yet alive...

verito's picture

I love it!! Oh my, he is so very beautiful, especially on close up!
I love the whole mood of this pic, along with the story it gives him so much more depth. Again the detail and colouring is amazing... I just can't stop looking at this one.

very emotional. the smoke (fog?) obscuring his outline is very well-done. overall, an excellent picture. i especially like the raven. it gives the whole scene a slightly malevolent edge.

>___< He's soooooo beautiful... *wannatakehimhome*
*loveshim* Laughing out loud
Hehehe.

I think i'm in love... with that costume. And the clouds. And the loopy hair. And pose.
(Twisted love square. Yeah.)

Laughing out loud Castlevania rocks.

...I'm wondering if the head is too small for the body? But it might just be the collar of the jacket making it look like that.

i'm glad u finally ulpoaded more pictures so i can look at your stuff..lol
anyways, awosome like always..i like the composition..but i think i would like it more withought the bird...i really like the face,it looks so real,it's almost like a photo..but u should also try to balance that because the rest of the picture doesn't look as real as the face..
well,u're really good..so i'm just trying to find anything to complain about..lol
by the way, what happened to (yarahi),i don't see it in your gallery anymore..
yarahi will always be my favorite of all your work, unless u can come up with another unique masterpiece..

All that space between that gorgeous vampire and the crow screams at me that it would work beautifully as a book cover with the lettering in that space. Wonderful job, Linda, and that lace on his shirt is to die for.

All of your work is spectacular, but this one is just stunning. The rendering is exquisite, and the grainy quality adds texture to what would otherwise be an unrealistically smooth surface. The composition does give character and mood to the painting, with the strands of the vampire's hair and bits of coat reaching for the bird.
Lovely new piece, don't be discouraged by the unjust critics who obviously can't see the beauty of your work.

Hi linda, this is Melinda. I love this one. So many places for my eyes to look. Its like a feast. Hes a bit to girly for me, but hes also really beautiful. I guess I'll never understand what "Art" is supposed to be. From all the comments I'm thinking it should be something sitting directly in the middle of a canvas. Guess i have no clue what art is. ( but i sure like your concept of it)

Guest's picture

Ms. Bergkvist I have admired your work ever since I first saw it. I think your renderings are amazing and your composition, no matter the piece, wonderful. What truly amazes me is the ones who feel free to smack you and your work down. Let them post a picture or two for us to critique before they begin to throw stones at yours. Personally, I feel it takes a lot more backbone to post and accept their comments, as you have done, then to stand aside and cast the stones... but that is just me.

Guest's picture

It's impossible for me to see that it's anything wrong with the composition. I think it's perfect for the subject. You have so neatly put together the two main compostions elements with the light in the sky. You are very gifted.

Guest's picture

I didn't know you had put this one up. I have to break my rule and comment on this one since you put him up here. He SO came out exactly as you described him when you came up with the idea that night. Glad I was there for that. I think you managed to catch his personality dead on right to the look in his eyes. He really comes to life and the whole image brings across the sad mood so well. This'll always be one of my favorite. No one tops Indeoque, though. I'm so biased.

Guest's picture

Again. Sorry but this is not a good composition. Shame because it is so well rendered.

Guest's picture

this is absolutely beautiful. i, for one, am in love with the composition. i think you did a very good job of keeping the blank space between the figure and the bird very interesting to the eye-- the background is wonderful. it's nice to see new work from you! Smile

Great work Linda !! its great to see someone who like me uses Photoshop, you've got a great style and technique, and I can appreciate the time and effort you have to put in to achieve results like this !!

enayla's picture

Thank you... it was an experiment with a different composition - some seem to hate it, and some seem to love it =] Glad you like it.

enayla's picture

*giggle* He's supposed to be girly - he's my girliest character so far, actually. But I understand where you're coming from - tastes differ, is all ^____^ Maybe you'll like my Myrrun more than Telynohn here.

Guest's picture

Oh please patrick person. This is a nice rendering with very poor composition. What is wrong? Everything's going off the page.... duh! The girly man thing...so what.

griffingirl's picture

Beautious! Love the composition. But ya know, I'd like to see his hair a little less...um...girly? I know, I know, you do a mean 'pretty boy'. I like 'em gnarly, though. However, that's just me...gimme a rogue any day. Truly deserves to be an Editor's Pick!

Guest's picture

Gawd, he's absolutely beautiful. The hair, the clothing. I'm simply speechless.

Guest's picture

i love it...you really are a great artist...beatutiful, as always

megaflow's picture

This is so brilliant! Aside from the technique (which I can hardly believe is photoshop) you have somehow made the space between the characters act as a focal point, a balance, and almost a third figure. Compositionally, I am reminded favorably of Whistler. Great work!

Art at its best.
