Artwork Description

Feel free to take a look at the closeup of her face
http://www.eyekon.org/~linda/autumnfae-closeup.jpgDuring spring, she is but seeds in the ground. A couple of rosebuds slowly appearing on thorny branches. Painfully bursting from the deep bowels of the earth; climbing quietly, slowly, out of the dust and dirt.

During summer... she spreads her wings but is locked to the ground. Her eyes are closed but her beauty is rich and full - she sways gently in the summer breeze. She hums along with the rest of the world around her - glorious in the rich warmth of summer.

During autumn... she is finally released. Like the leaves tumbling from the trees - she is set free. For a few wonderful weeks, she dances with the winds; she twirls and whirls across the sand-coloured fields and her voice can be heard whispering through the red-tinted forests. She is -alive- during autumn. But she, alike the leaves that dart and dance around her, will eventually tumble to the ground and remain still... slowly rotting away as nature around her does.

During winter, she freezes; she becomes encapsuled like the rest of the nature around her. Frozen as her limbs and wings were rotting and moulding with the leaves. She is held still and quiet like that famous princess in her glass casket. Not alive, and yet never fully dead, because nature never fades...

...and then spring comes, again, and the cycle is repeated... again, and again, as the years whisper by.

You get so much feedback! I didn't think it was yours, but I can see you had a different feeling in this one. I like it. Really pleasant to look at. Smile

There are many wonderful artists on this web site. However, I think that you, Linda, are my favorite by far. You have such a range of moods. Much of your work is dark, but then you are also capable of portraying sheer delight and joy. I sincerely hope that your occupation harnesses your amazing abilities. Please continue to create.

This is a very nice picture, it reminds me of a song i wrote called Rain Of Pageantry. The music has voice, acoustic guitar, and oriental flutes. The lyrics refer to autumn as a graceful death. I repeat them here as i think it suits the image.

Rain Of Pageantry

There's a time and a place for most everything,
leaves must fall and they drift in the tide.

There's a time and a place for most everything,
leaves must fall and we wave them goodbye.

In a rain of pageantry, the leaves fall from the autumn trees...

No words can describe this piece of art work. Thanks to you this realy drives my crave to work harder on my art skills.I probably sound like one of those other sappy suck ups or something.Fare well.

it's too computer-ish looking. it's a step backward on your part, even though, astetically, it is very pretty.
I am most impressed with your work when it can almost pass for a traditional painting.
keep it up

Has anyone tried looking at Linda's art through 3D glasses? It's a must!
I'm looking through some that my brother got with a puzzle. The effect is amazing!

wow

Hi there. First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge the fact that I have no artistic ability whatsoever. That being said, Linda - I think you are awesome. You art is simply exquisite, and you never cease to amaze me. I am -quite- a fan. I love this particular piece, as well as These Woods and Bride of the Monster. Well, I love them all, truthfully! Please keep it up!

You are my favorite artist...it used to be monet but he cant compare to you...try an art gallery..thell pay millions foryour work and send some pieces into julliard...you'll get an art scholarship in no time i MEAN it!!!!!

Wow, it looks so real! I feel like just looking at it makes me inside the picture, it's that lifelike. Your so great of an artist, I wish I were as good as you! I'm gonna strive to be as good an artist as you, but I know that's not possible, you're just so great! Autumn is my favorite time of the year, and this picture is absolutely wonderful, representing the best of autumn. I love every aspect of this picture!

You know they says the foot is a bit fat but i dont think the same way as they do. No body is the same as one other, i just turned out to be pregnant and before your belly starts to grow, your ankles just look the same as your picture. I assure you. This work is made with so delicate sense of sensibility, even through it is not perfect, it is this who makes the drawin so beautiful, because perfect things gets boring to see.

Thank you very much! It is very valuable

This is a very very beautiful peice, Linda, no matter what anyone says about your artwork you know that its wonderful, beautiful and unique and these people who flame you cant even get close to doing what you can do. YOU know its good, and that matters more than what everyone else in the world thinks. It is indeed a very rare thing to be able to make work so good that people have to insult it to make themselfs feel better.
Draw on~
Your fellow artist,
Stephie

Seeing this the first time was like leafing through a picture book and have a picture suddenly jump out at you.
It is beautiful, amazing, it made me happy to look at it.
It is so lively that the sparks seem to jump out of the screen.
I'd like to read your books too.
If you're not a writer then please go and be one.

This is, by far my favorite peice. You once said you tried many times to top your "dance of winters"......oh you have! You really have! And also if I may, I love your writing that you put under your drawings. As a writer myself, your words and imagry provide miles of inspiration.

Guest's picture

wow... there are no such words to describe this, its just... amazing.

Guest's picture

Simply Unbelievable...Complexly Beautiful!

*roll eyes* Linda, I don't know how you put up with all the doubters and trolls, but kudos to you for doing it. I have nothing but the utmost respect for you and and the art you create, and your obvious talent just floors me. This one I think reaches a new pinnacle of realism compared to your others, and it's really quite inspiring. I can't help but think, "All that detail must've taken -ages-!," and I saw you mention that you spent a long time on it. I'm curious just -how long- this image took you, if you know... ?

Guest's picture

Beautiful work as always! I really like the leaves as wings, and you've captured an etherial, fairy look about her face. You're a rare talent Linda, keep up the awesome work!

Guest's picture

Just have to say, I was feeling pretty low and was just meandering around the web, I saw this pic and became totally lost, all other thought vanished as I started wondering what is she thinking, what is she doing.....I was wonderfully lost in the picture and I thank you for cheering me up

Guest's picture

Oh wow. This is so impressive. The picture, in this smaller version, is breathtaking as it is (the wings, especially), but once I saw the closeup of the face, I was completely blown away. Her skin is so flawless, and her hair so rich. She looks like a doll. Do you have a bigger version of this picture up?

Guest's picture

This is really really ugly. Her face specially. Ew.

Guest's picture

You had a work in your gallery: boy with green eyes, sky, 'long' hairs. Boy from "Indeoque" may be was created after this work or vice versa. I don't know why you deleted it, but I think that your idea in this work is GOOD. One of my lovest ideas! I've never seen such idea before and it was so beautiful to see! I thinked :-)a little!Smile about your idea, but I can't find how I can do something which will be similar and unsimilar to your idea. May be to widen second part, into the second direction Smile))) Not sure Smile. You also used this idea at gfx and I want to say that this is admirably good!

Guest's picture

Hello linda as the lady above said the proportion is a bit off, the face is beautiful and about the other picture with the roses it looks to squared...I'm not a very big fan of your work, I am an Artist myself I draw exotic women; mayhaps you can see some of my works some day though I dare not sell them they are Masterpieces of my own heart.

Good try though.

Guest's picture

I just wanted to tell you your art is stunning! I have heard it said that looking at your art is like looking into ones soul~I can't wait until you start selling your art to the public! I will be right there in line!

This peice is as breath taking as your others. Though, I saw something different. It is so vivid, so alive that she looks as though she could jump from the painting. Or that she can stop time, and make it dull and grey. But she still stands as though newly painted, though a real human.

Art at its best.
