hi linda, i am a new comer of this site, and your art surprised me so much, make me want to start drawing in computer myself haha, and actually i have copied this one for my first practice, i learned a lot in doing it, thanks you very much.
to me the most difficult thing is the texture of the skin, how did u do that? i tried but my picture is too smooth, not like real people's skin but rather like cartoon....difficult to add texture. can u tell me how to do so in painter? cause it is my first time doing it, so not familiar with painter7....-_-"
if u have a chance to see it, can u send me a email? h0108739@hkusua.hku.hk

thanks very much

*waves* It's been awhile, but damn... I remember before you started using photoshop and stuff.. *chuckles* but its been awhile since Ive seen yer stuff... and this one definitely marks realism.. a little less smoothness, than your other ones, but still a Linda-pic! *G* Well, I gotta get going! I'll seeya sometime! Maybe!

The lace is beautiful, but the woman's little finger seems a bit off. Beautiful job as always.

I've never commented before, but decided to come out of lurking for this picture. I love your art, but this is just stunning. I've had it on my desktop background for quite a while now. I'm not sure why I love it so much, but I do. I want to eventually be able to draw things like this. Wonderful job!

Sometimes I imagine you with underwear on your head, peering out of a cell door.
Your anoymous guests and you rediculous art are so pathetic. Bad leg on this one as well as bad finger and stiff poor faces. I agree with S. D..
Tough Epilogue You post this maniac.

like all your art, i could stare at this for long long periods of time. especially the clothing in this one! it's so intricate. and so detailed. and so real. and so romantic. hee hee hee...simply fantastic!

Ahhh....another fantastic piece of artwork done by the famous Linda Bergkvist. This is really cool. It reminds me of the movie Legend of Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp. I think this one might be the best but it's hard to chose. All of them are so interesting and beautiful to look at!

lol! From the little thumbnail and the title, I thought it was going to be a sweet, romantic valentine-ish picture. And then I click on it and see the knives. Great! Like theatre.

It's always fun (in a sad sort of way) to see how ridiculous some people get when struck by untamed jealousy. Your artwork is wonderful, and -despite I'm far from considering myself an expert- I notice a great improvement in the realism of your designs and color schemes. Not only that, but the last pieces you've shared with this group are drenched in content and emotion. That's something very few artists here can achieve. Inspiration works well on your behalf. Please keep on following the muse.

Fantastic artwork. There is something very familiar about your pictures, and I notice you don't have a homepage (which is unusual for someone sooo good). Are you also someone else on epilogue??

This picture is striking and scary.
What is most important to me is the whole, not the details of the picture.
Even if one finger were a little longer (and maybe that happened to Rembrandt too once in a while) it does not diminish the picture.
Furthermore, their poses don't seem stiff to me, just seemingly relaxed and secretly tensed.
Their faces don't seem stiff to me either, but filled with subtle expression.
Congratulations!

Oh and Ah!

Hey, i think this is the first time seeing more than 1 person in ur picture^^ it's so purteeh!

Guest's picture

Good peoples, hairs "in wind", birds and a lot of good details in work.

Guest's picture

Beautiful complexity in creating people, of couse!! I like you did people very much, they both faces are alive!

Guest's picture

I've been waiting to see new work from you, and this pic certainly did not disappoint!

Guest's picture

Their poses do look stiff, and IMO the composition is rather poor. The fabrics and laces are well done,I have to agree on that.I've noticed that many of your new pieces aren't as good as the older ones, there are multiple flaws in proportions, composition and anatomy. Also,I find it rather strange that this picture doesn't look like "fantasy" at all.Are they supposed to be vampires or something ? They just look like some people from the late 1800s-early 1900s that are about to kill each other.I don't apologize for my comment, since you probably won't care about it anyway, but I simply don't see the reason why this picture was approved in the first place 'cause it isn't clearly fantasy.

Guest's picture

Yup! Stiff, phoney, poor faces, exquisite lace though. Yup right in line with the pretense in whole self-pumped gallery.
Yup-yup!
May the farce be with you always.

THIS is why you're absolutely my favorite artist on this site! Just when I think you have created something so beautiful, you create something even better, so lifelike. I can't wait to see what you come up with next, your work is so beautiful and amazing. Smile

Guest's picture

another awesome picture! the lace on her dress is amazing. it somehow seems that your pictures have started to look much more like oil paintings, and less like cg. I do like the newer style, but, I always enjoyed the fantasmical elements in the older ones. =P

maddie's picture

Oh my, what a magnificent dress you've drawn! (Please tell me it took you at least ten hours ^_^) The lace look so real you could touch it... His silk clothes and the grassy ground is really well done, and I can't get over how darn awesome you are!

Guest's picture

The finger does seem to be a little long, even though the other fingers seem to be curled in toward the palm of her hand. The woman's head and ear postion seemed the be off a bit. The lace on the dress, however, is beautifully done and very realistic. A good picture overall.

Guest's picture

A very interesting concept. It looks to me that it is the guy who is surrendering to the lady's beauty for is knife is not raised like hers. I've been reading the past posts and I see nothing anatomicly wrong with the lady's hand. Her other three fingures are obviously curved in towards her dress with only her pinky extended. It's just at an odd angle to see that. The clothes are done fantasticly as well. I wish I could do clothes fabric as well as I do people.

Linda, maybe you could do a small tutorial on clothing texture?

Guest's picture

Wow... I really like this one... it would seem like a complete contrast to your other more recent works... but it's no, when studied closer... The pinky on her left hand does seem slightly long, but the perfections are in the imperfections... The lace on her dress is positively stunning (it looks so unbelieveably real!) and I really like the effects with the birds scattering -- almost like they know what's about to happen... Wow... Love it ~^

Guest's picture

Wonderful, I love the colors and the girl's dress. Mh, her little finger seems a liiiittle bit too long to me. Anyway, great picture as usual.

Art at its best.
