Artwork Description

Fairytale style, I've been thinking about putting together a good number of pictures and stories for a fairytale book, mature and dark. We'll see what happens with that. This one is inspired by an old story - you might know which - but with a different theme. Trying out new techniques again, I love to test new things. On a sidenote, for all those who asked before when I was up to my ears in work, I'm free to do commissions for a while now.

I stared at this for a few moments, then followed the petals back. When I saw the second figure, my heart jumped. I love you.

First time I saw it in an online RPG-game. I choosed it for my characther, her name is Celebloth. I did not know why I lovedher face so much, cos I didn't saw the whole picture that time. But as I found it on this website, everything was so clear. My character was going through a dark forest, where somebody (some dark and very bed creatur) followed her, but she didn't notice it only feel it....
It's a really great work! I love it! =)))

I love it. The atmosphere of the piece draws one in to the story... and the shadow of the pursuer captures the eye and holds it to build the tension. Masterful use of layout, color, and contrast.

This is beautiful! I've been a fan of your work for quite a while now, and never once has any of your pieces let me down, if that is even possible.
I Love the trees, and the shadowy figure in the top left hand corner!

This is astonishing. If I ever get half this good with colours and composition I'll consider myself successful. Truly amazing.

I love the pedals of the flowers following behind and the dress and the background, all very deatiled, This picture reminds me of a grim fairytail...but i dont know what one.......

A foreboding feeling . . . luscious innocence will soon be lost.

Your art always makes my fingers itch--to draw, to dance, to write, but mostly to write. What I love most about your fairy tale stuff is that you really can see a whole dimension in them, a story begging to be told.

Beautiful work, Miss Bergkvist. You have a true gift to art, and it is a rare thing to have. I think this picture is very beaitful, reminding me, of course, of Snow White. When I first took glance at it, though, she reminded me of Ophelia.

That guys in the background is kinda freaky, just looming back there...Awesome.

I have to say that my favourite aspect of this picture is the shadowy figure in the left background. It really adds a touch of mystery to the picture, and makes you wonder about the story behind it.
As always, Jaw-dropping work! I hope I get to see more in the near future!

Hello! I've been adoring your artwork from afar for quite a while, and I was wondering how much it would cost to purchse a commission. Probably more than I can afford currently (lol! ^_~) But at least I'll know how much I have to put aside!
Thank you!

I've been a fan of your art for a while, since a friend of mine claimed some were made by her, for me. As far as I know she's ceased doing this.

After a while another friend of mine referred me here, to your Epilogue gallery, I've found your forums and some tutorials, and I've been getting a lot of inspiration from your work.

Since you're now showing a lot of interest in dark faerie-tales, I was wondering if you've ever heard of the author Neil Gaiman, who has written several dark fantasy novels and graphic novels including the Sandman series, Neverwhere, American Gods, and Coraline?

In fact, if you have the space and bandwidth, you might like to check out the audio version of his short story, "Snow, Glass, Apples." It's available free at http://www.scifi.com/set/playhouse/snowglassapples/ ... I've wanted to see your visual interpretation of that one for some time now. Smile

In any case, keep doing what you do, and I'll keep looking up your work. You've got a great touch with the faerie-tale style already, btw. Smile

Your work is so beautiful, and so inspiring to me as a costumer.. ^^ I'd love to create a gown like this someday.. With permission of course. ^^; Thank you!

I've seen the rest of your pieces but for some reason this one seems to stand out. The shadowy figure in the back is quite interesting, if I might say so. You mentioned it being inspired from a story...perhaps a twisted Hansel and Gretel?? Lol, but thats just me. Great work.

Art at its best.
