Artwork Description

Another image for my dark fairytales project. It is about loneliness - and about making friends that are filled with deceit. Betrayal, secrets, and intrigue. If you'd like to see a closeup of the dragon, it's available on my site (Ruby section, where this image is).

This is one of my favorite pictures you've done. But I do have a question...I saw nearly the same picture in a magazine on a t-shirt, but the last name wasever so slightly different from yours. Was that this picture??

Speak to me, despair, and tell your heart your loneliness.

I love how you make to dragon come alive and seem to be floating by the amazing placement of the two tails. Very well done.

Don’t whisper into the wind
For the wind she is a Mistress wicked
She will carry your secrets and tell them all
To an unsuspecting fool
Don’t whisper into the wind
For the wind she is a careless friend
She will forget what was said in confidence
And put your heart on display
Don’t whisper into the wind
For the wind she knows not truth from fantasy
She will rustle the leaves of trees
Echoing out your dark desires
No, don’t whisper into the wind
For the wind she is a spirit free
Don’t tell your secrets to her
Tell them instead to me…

I really hope that this formats right. I wrote this poem after being inspired by this picture. I LOVE your work, but this one in particular spoke to me on a personal level.

Love this -- especially the way you captured that deep, moody valley. Wonderful atmosphere. Such depth in this piece.

Damn! Someone else did the moon-by-day before me *grins*.
Seriously, though, I love the feeling in this, the colors and dark mood, and how the light shines among the leaves. Beautiful!

I am truly impressed Linda. I have long been an admirer of your work, and I finally sat down long enough to simply express my love for it. The subtle undertones, the extreme perfection in your changing from light to dark shadows near the bottom. The hair of this woman is simply magnificent. The way it curls, twists, bends so life-like that I can practically see a tiny breeze tugging on the ends. There is even a certain cloudiness, or prhaps fogginess over the background.. As if she is up high, very high, amongst the clouds. The dress she wears has tiny details that I am infatuated with, the folds, the shadows.. I love! I can see the tree as it bends over, strain. The rising moon is a favorite aspect, simply because I do obsess over that particular heavenly body. From the intricate patterns of the tree trunk, right down to the ground, I strongly admire this piece, and the dragon is lovely. Congratulations on another successful piece. Thank you for being such a wonderfully talented person.

I wrote another comment. It didn't seem to stick - I don't want to repeat myself. In any case, a beautiful picture.

There are artists who depict so accurately reality and humanity, we are amazed that the world they paint is not truly our own. They have a unique and powerful talent - but then there are artists who depict reality and humanity in such a way that they make us feel empty and purposeless and vain compared to their creations; though this praise might not be mine to give, I think you are one of these.

WOW! Your art truly is inspiring. This piece is so beautiful. All of your artwork looks so realistic, like an old photo. It may sound corny but I can really feel the mist and the wind and the lonliness. Awesome job Smile

(And yes, here in Ireland that is the weather we get... it looks just like it)

i love how things that are farther away are hazy. Even the leaves have that wet, hazy look. And the dress bleeds onto the ground, like the tree-roots, mirrored by the twisted, convoluted limbs of the tree behind her. Friggin' awesome. And if I'm not mistaken, the dragon holds some intriguing sexual undertones. (I've been on a fruedian kick).

This one is my favorite. For me, there's nothing to say about technical things or the way you should have done this or that.. As always that's an amazing and a wonderful picture, but I also love the way you traduced loneliness,it's so poetic. It's hard to find words as this image subjugates me every time I see it. Nathalie

I love your work, have admired it for some time and intially was the reason I stumbled onto Epilogue..however I don't like this piece that much, looks half finished. I am not sure what you had in mind at the start of this piece but I somehow get the feeling it did'nt quite come out as you had imagined it to, the hands to the face just seem very odd..especially with a baby dragon just in front of her. None the less it is nice, just seems unfinished..alot of artist's when they feel they've made a mistake will focus so much attention on it, name an entire piece focused on it, or dressing it's surroundings up to cover it in some way and that's what this piece says to me. The hands just do not look like she is whispering to anything and the dragon does'nt fit. BUT linda you are so talented everyone will gush praise for it at any rate. =)

I think this is my new favorite. It has a medieval element to it which I've so far never seen in your other works... also, the misty landscape in the background reminds me of Ireland, one of my all-time favorite places in the world. Wink
So this piece really appeals to me. Great work!

Art at its best.
