Hey Kat, thanks. Smile I used Bristol Vellum by Strathmore. Definitely water involved, because I need really thin washes under the colored pencil. The paper doesn't buckle much if you secure it with artist's tape (I tape the paper to a drawing board).

I loved this the first time i saw it on DA love it here too Smile:)Smile
incredible work,Maria may i ask what brand of bristol you used for this if it was smooth or vellum bristol ?
it's awesome you used Gouache for glazing i always wondered if the paper like bristol wraps at all? or do you use the Gouache with or no water at all?
sorry for all the questions :)- I luv your work Smile

Also wonderful work, Maria!
Beautiful colours! What gets me the most are those wary eyes..full of emotion!

Thanks, Christine! Gouache is pretty much like watercolor, I did glazes and then finished the detail with colored pencils.

Sweet, Maria! How is guache to work with? I haven't used it since I was a frosh in college...gawd, that's been years. Great clarity of line and color! And then, I assume you used the pencils o'er top? Okay, I'm off to your site to check out the tuts...
