Artwork Description

ive totally redone this painting, giving it a different colour and also ive redone the horses, both real and waterhorses because the anatomy was rather bad. so here it is,, elronds river about to crash on those poor old dark riders.

cool man this is mad your a realy good artist! why don't you do one of legolas?

Guest's picture

I almost pity the nazgûl. Can almost feel their fear. How do you do that?

Guest's picture

i wish i was that good!
i know with pratice i can be! Keep up the good work! Smile

Striking! You've achieved such richness and depth with the water horses, I can feel them crashing towards me. Kudos to you!

This piece is breathtaking. The technique is almost photorealistic. The color of the water makes the wraiths stand out with a dark kind of grace. Well done!

I LIKE YOUR PICTURE IT IS VERY COOL .

My favourite artist from the first day i found elfwood-the first fantasy gallery i got addicted to,years ago Smile Your art creates inspiration beyond words, thank you for sharing it with us

Very nice contrast between the dark and water horses! And though the horses were dark, the details; the joints and armor could be clearly seen. Love your work!

Guest's picture

have you read lord of th rings and wached the movie? I don't want to say that this is a bad picture coz its made wery well but it there is something that i have against that picture

Guest's picture

The horses are good, but I really like shading on the cloaks of the Nazgul. the black riders really stand out against the bright colours of the water. Well done!

Guest's picture

That looks really good. It's a very dynamic image, and though all of the horses have their bits of anatomically incorrect-ness, given that they're made of bits of shadow and waves, this is appropriate. Great job!

I think your interpretation of this scene is far more impressive than what I saw in the recently released movie.
It is more epic because it is on a grander scale.
Furthermore, it is more colorful and just flat out more dynamic.
I wish peter Jackson would have drew inspiration from this pic, oh well, guess that's what we artists are here for, to visualize things at their ultimate.

There really are no words to describe it, so I'll have to make one up, "nessdokgoo", it's just all the good things of this picture rolled into one word. Oh, and I saw the movie and say this drawing makes it feel more... I don't know. I'll shut up now

caitmf1's picture

caitmf1's picture

ya, i cant wait to see how they see it in the movie, wonder what it wil look like.

vuollet's picture

Thanks J P, as u konw I don't care too much about detail, the black riders are almost sillouetes. Just wanted to add a few lights here and there, and yes I totallly agree with you, less is often beter. Cheers for visiting jp(kisses ass here )

vengince's picture

I like the palette in this one though it does not have tons of detail like your other works but it still holds my eye, continue to explore this, sometimes less is best.

caitmf1's picture

cheers john but ive got to redo it,,

Art at its best.
