"The Music of Dawn' ... was inspired by music -- Mozart's Requiem to be more specific -- however it does not depict a music that we hear, but rather the music of Mother Nature and the cosmos. It is the music that is life, and one that we hear, smell, and taste, touch and see everyday, but don't always take a moment to appreciate.
Dawn sits within the faery circle, she, a handmaiden of Mother Nature. Her role is to raise the sun and create the sunrise. Yet this faery is destined never to see her creations as she is bereft of the sense of sight we humans often take for granted. Yet still she takes great pride and delight in her role and can feel with her soul the beauty and power of every creation. Every morning she brings forth a dawn that will catch your breath and leave you with the knowledge that you are but a small part of a this very beautiful world.
I would like to thank the beautiful Slylock-Stock of DA for the pose that inspired this artwork.
Watercolour, gouache, and coloured pencil. Original size 12"x17".
