This is definately one of the freakiest and scariest monsters I've ever seen. He looks evil and hungry to boot. Really nice work! |

hmm, i think, it is even harder to draw terrifying creatures, and make them really scary, than drawing beautiful&perfect girls.. cool work!! and you have a great gallery! | | (April Lee) |
Thanks! Well, I don't know about one thing being harder than another. There are artists who just LOVE doing monsters. They are really, really good at it, and just prefer doing monsters to pretty humans. And maybe they aren't so good at doing pretty humans! And visa versa. Everyone's passions and everyone's talents are different.

Favourite This is my favourite pic of your Epilogue gallery(I hope there are more somewhere else!)
The tension in this is just fantastic I think. | | (April Lee) |
Monsters I rarely paint monsters. Most companies hire me to create their handsome heroes and beautiful ladies. I don't mind at all, but it is a nice change when I get an assignment to do something ugly and scary! :) |

Oh great monster...I can't get over that hand...those nails are coming toward me...perspective and layout on this is awesome April. | | (April Lee) |
This was another unusual painting for me. I think this is the only monster I've done! Both this one and the Drow with the owl were painted in acrylics. I mostly use airbrush now, since it's faster... And may switch over to digital (much cleaner!).

Hurrah, done in *acrylics*! You are an isnpiration, this beasty is horribly good and caught in a superb moment. Very simple elements, incredibly effective and wonderfully painted! | | (April Lee) |
Acrylics aren't that hard to use--but digital is great for being able to undo stuff and work in layers, etc. I started painting before digital paint programs were widely used and available--or even accepted in print. Plus, I still like to have an original painting to show and to sell. But it's nice to know that I can scan the things and fix the image up digitally, when possible!

If you have a vivid imagination, artistic skills, and love to create things, you may be interested in getting an education one of the following areas:
Art School
Graphic design, illustration, painting, photography, and sculpture. There are different types of art schools and art institutes, as well as different types of art degrees you can earn.
Game Design School
Design and develop artwork for video games. Art plays a huge role in modern video game design. Create concept artwork or create the final in-game textures, graphics, and scenery.
Film School
Learn the art of filmmaking at film school. Directing, casting, art direction, post production, and editing are best learned by working with experienced film school instructors.
