I agree thats its almost toooo cutsey...but fantastic none the less. The orginal version is good, but i think this version that you uploaded has much more sense of depth and movement. The mountains and valleys add so much to the landscape. |

Magical! As always, stunning and inspirational digital magic! I actually prefer the other one. It is a lot more focused and I also like the effect of the scene "floating". However, I think both are beautiful pieces and quite awe inspiring. As I have said before, it pushes me on and encourages me further in my own creative pursuits. |

I think I prefer the original version, though this one is still amazing, like all of your pictures. It really inspires the imagination. |

True..it's sugar-sweet...but it's really great that way. I actually prefer this version...it's a bit more anchored in it's frame and has more depth of field, even if there are too many luscious details to take in at once. LOVE that pink ladybug! |

I agree with you, it is a bit too cutesy but I am thinking the face is a little too grown up for the body. Anyway, I have to say both images of this are amazing as are all your work, and I am looking forward to all your new ones. |

You're right. It *is* a bit cutesy for you, but you can't help that, what with this being a commission and all. I also agree the the original is better. Somehow the blue mountains in the back seem like a little too much. But those are very minor nitpicks. As usual, you drew the subject matter splendidly. I like the way you painted the light on one leg and the other leg in shadow. You paint subtle tones so well. I love the soft shadows on the petals, and the feeling of lightness in the entire painting. I mean, the girl dosen't even make an indent on the rose. At first I thought that the ladybug is a bit too dull, but now that I look at it, it seems like a conscious choice of yours-- it'd have been too garish on the rest of the color palette. |
| (Linda Bergkvist) |
Thank you, Min. I would rather leave the mountains out, myself - I'm thinking of doing a picture that's somewhere in between the two (basically letting the blue sky remain, but also keep the additional roses. We'll see =] And, yes, I made the ladybug very dull... but it just didn't work in bright red =(

Oh please Min Rho ?the other window pounder? with your pathetic commentaries.
?Jack of all media Master of none? comes to mind.
Hey Linda this ?poser-like? rendition is superb! Except that poser stays in proportion.
How you frankenstein these people together - laffin. Cutie pie face and hair, badly done arms and hands.
The forearm and upper arm on the extended arm needs to be revisited. Terribly mis-proportioned.
Even the ?Well-Done butterfly? gets cheapened when duped over to be wings for your stiff fae.
Hey Linda wanna play? We?ll play! |

t-shirts and postcards? *perks up* ooh! didn't say anything about that before! anyway. you already know i like the original better, but even so -- the roses and mountains in this picture (and the dragonfly imange) are -incredible-. i showed my mother the dragonfly and she thought it was a photograph. you've got an insane talent for scenery of all sorts... mountains and flowers and forests... and then combined with your insane talent for people and faces, mood, texture, composition, posing, color, wings, outfits... and just about everything else, come to think of it. ;) aah...she's so floaty. lurvly, as always. can you do no wrong? |

Well, I want to say about one idea:
1. Artist must earn his right to comment
2. To earn his right artist must have gallery with at the least 1 work
3. Bad work are not accepted! ;-)
4. About me: Epilogue Guest comment in my gallery since that moment will not be seen openly. I hide them by using Epilogue service, only I can see them.
That's why I think people which did not interesting by art can not comment me.

Ok, I've got to pipe in on this one too.
Linda, you just keep amazing me. What a wonderful vision you have. Somehow you make these paintings that have all the priceless perfection of collector's porcelein, without any of the kitchiness. Your work always causes me to catch my breath. Bravo! |

Hmm, i like the original better too. There's just a little too much in the background here and it ends up too dark. So where can we find these post cards and t-shirts? |

Oh she's beautiful, Linda. What a gorgeous piece. |

Hmm, if I didn't know it was a commission, I'd say that someone ran out of black paint. ;)
I couldn't see the original, but it's really interesting to see "out-of-character" paintings. Pretty textures.
And trolls are dumb. |
