GREAT POEM GREAT ART One of my favourite poems ever! And I really think this picture does it justice. Her gown looks so airy and I really like the fae sparkles around her. How on earth did you make the background?? That is wicked cool! |

Thanks, Donna! The background was done in Painter 7. I set the paper on one of the "crackle" textures, smeared a few colors onto the canvas, then blended them very carefully using the "big frosty water" option. When I do this, I manipulate the adjustments for grain, opacity, brush size, etc. because if I don't I just get big blobby smears of paint. ^_^

Thanks for telling about the background, it's a really great effect, and the dress really matches with it, the dress is absolutely gorgeous |

Thank you, Sita, for the lovely comment.

ephemerally beautiful I think my favorite part of the picture, other than the picture itself, is the transperancy effect you achived on the skirt of the dress, so that her legs show through.
I also like the silky, touchable look of her hair. |

Thanks! I airbrushed her skirt very carefully, with the airbrush tool set on very low opacity.

Beautiful painting, and I think I dated this one... yikes! Looking at your work reminds of Enya. Very magical. |
| (Norma Peters) |
Thank you very much, Walt. Enya...that's very high praise indeed if my pictures bring her music to mind. ^_^

This is fantastic work - the subject is beautiful and I love the way you've given the impression of a sheer material for the dress. The more roughly painted background is particularly outstanding. Truly fabulous composition, excellent :) |
| (Norma Peters) |
You're very kind. This picture evolved, composition-wise, as it was being drawn. :)

You have a lovely gallery Norma, full of interesting and well rendered personalities. I like your considered and 'restrained' use of colour ( some artists fantasy work can be like an explosion in a paint factory ).
This one is my favourite,a beautifully rendered character from one of my favourite poems. |

Thank you for the lovely comment. I deeply appreciate it.
