very different indeed.. much more textured then what i've seen you do, but then again, it's fun to do different things now and then. and the swirls in this have a more.. 'art nouave' style (and i know i spelt it wrong, can't ever spell it) |
| (Stephanie Law) |
Art Nouveau. =) And yeah, I'm pretty heavily influenced by art nouveau in general. I love the swirls and the use of plant life in a more abstracted, design sort of way.

Excellent, Stephanie! I love your little familiar. Wonderful style here too. |
| (Stephanie Law) |
Thanks! It was very fun doing this loose style. A nice change from plotting and planning every element. Being able to just scribble it out.

pretty very much so ;) ehm... what's that animal there? |
| (Stephanie Law) |
Urm, it's whatever you want to call it. Hehe. Nothing real that I've ever seen! Winged foxish type of creature I suppose.

Wonderful image, for some reason the coloring slightly reminds me of using subtractive shading with charcoal ... |
| (Stephanie Law) |
I guess in the back of my mind, that wa something I was going for. I was sitting next to a wonderful charcoal artist at the last convention I went to and I suppose a bit of that rubbed off on me. =)

My first thought was "it's so beautiful!", ah you're amazing you can just scribble around and it still turns out to be a masterpiece. |

I really like how different this is from a lot of your other work (even though I love your other work)! You should go for the scribbling more often. I think it works for you. |

This is my favorite self-depiction, thus far. You have a beautiful style, it contains both an impressionists feeling and yet the color scheme is uniquly individual to you, the artist. Seriously beautiful picture. Cheers. |

I love how free it seems, and how it isn't washed-out looking colorwise like a lot of your others (not that I don't like them, your technical ability always astounds me! :)
This one kinda looks like it was made on a scratchboard, which is a not often seen media, but I like the effect. (have you ever done a piece on scratchboard?) |
| (Stephanie Law) |
Yeha, I did several pieces with scratchboard many years ago but never really liked it. This is digital, and I worked from a mid-tone background to both whites and darks, so I can see how it might look like scratchboard too!
