What an eerie atmosphere you have created here. Makes me think about who actually lit those candles? And the eyes starring at me from inside the root in the right corner - is it a cat or something else...? |

So very cool! I might drip a little more Spanish moss from the tree, though. I love the stuff...so moody.... |

The atmosphere and mood of the picture is wonderfully captured. The mist that hides the subtle figure is a great touch. The tree is amazing (i have a thing for trees :) ). But my favorite part has to be the candle that just went out. I also enjoy the subtle secrets of the picture. |

I love the subtle treatment of depth and the way you rendered the figure in the background...and those little eyes...wow! |

I love the mist in this picture and that candle that's gone out. The bark on the tree is wonderful. |

What a lovely curse I think this picture proves something that never really needed to be proven: That your backgrounds take second place to your skill at rendering beautiful, perfect people. In this case, the subject is the very twisted, wizened tree- beautiful in it's imperfection.
the person is far off. I think that's a nice change, and rare to see from you. As it turns out, anything you choose as your subject is lavished upon. It's clear that you love drawing for its own sake. |
