I can hardly put into words how beautiful this is! The colors are well choosen and applied, I like especially the dolphin. The only thing that bugs me is a lack of shadows, but that could be only me... ^_^ | | (Marie Bird) |
To Richard Thanks for the lovely comments! I think the dolphin is a firm favourite with a lot of people.. I have made a special cut of the dolphin section of this painting.. I do not normally do this as it was made for the whole effect.. but it was for a special person! ^_^

Oh my! Wonderful to see these three depicted together. That wave is awesome. I don't think shadows are necessary in this type of picture and would be difficult to paint convincingly in the water. I do wish the unicorn's feet were buried in the water though. Just my personal opinion. | | (Marie Bird) |
Thanks Marilyn I felt the shadows were not a big part of the painting on the whole as there were so many distinct shadows and ripples of colour in the wave itself and as you say to make it convincing would be quite a skill as to rippling and reflective qualities of water itself! I do agree on hindsight that the unicorns foot should have been IN the water and not on top as if on glass! Thanks for visiting! ^_^

Hi Marie sorry I'm a bit slow to twig sometimes :) I've had one of my poor pictures up against this picture in Art Duel, it's nice to be able to say just how much I like it. I love unicorns and dolphins, not that I don't like the eagle but the other two are my fav. Your style is wonderful and very refreshing, love it :)
I was painting a picture along similar lines at the time as well. It still needs more work on it before they accept it here though :) | | (Marie Bird) |
Hi Steph :) Whoah well your pic one hands down and it is a great piece, it's still going strong!
I agree with you I also like the unicorn and the dolphin the best, I like the eagle after that! ^_^ |
