Superb job handling the medium of watercolor here, James Browne, Stephanie Law, and all the other watercolor geniuses are going to be proud of you. ^__^ |

Lovely hues of green in the armor. She does look a bit male, though. Anyway, I like it. Makes me want to try out watercolours myself. |
| (Anneth Lagamo) |
yeahhhh I know what you mean. It's kinda hard to make a woman appear warrior-ish without making her look manly. But one thing's for sure--there's no way my elves will wear Valkery cups. Uh uh. ~____^!! TY!

oh, lovely! This has an almost iconographic quality- it's a beautiful portrait. I love how you work with light in your paintings. |
| (Anneth Lagamo) |
I'll share a little secret with you--the actual painting is much MUCH darker/richer than this, but taking a digital picture of it was a mistake since it washed out all the detail :( Ah well. As for the iconography reference: yep! I'm very interested in the sort of "anti-hero" archetype, and a lot of my subjects inevitably turn out to be a martyr of some sort. Or maybe it's because I prefer depicting strong women...heh he. Thank you Jessica!

OH MY GOD!!!! this is beautiful!, I honestly think this is one of the best images I've ever seen on Epilogue....
(will you be making this available as a print for sale?) |
| (Anneth Lagamo) |
whoa, thank you for the kind words, Alistair! And I must say, I really love your ghoulish, Tim Burton-esque work! I'll be starting print sales -hopefully-early March. I'll keep you posted :)

What a great piece. I can see the pain in his face and the soft colors show his vulnerability. |

I remember seeing that in W.I.P. section. I think you really captured the atmosphere here. Very expressive face as well! |

Beautiful, the detail in her face is amazing. I didn't know you could get such effects with watercolours...and is that dragons I see in the background? |

Hi Anneth, I just wanted to congratulate you on a WONDERFUL work of art. Your work has always struck a chord in my heart but this one is really special! You made this warrior so compelling, especially with her expression and the way she holds the trophy as if she didn't want to look at it. And not to mention the colors which are beautiful! Overall: amazing. |

GREAT This is a VERY strong piece that grabs you immediately - this guy looks in pain as he contemplates something, enduring grief and sorrow of some kind... Very well done, admirable work! |

What can I say... this is definitely one of your works I love most (saw it first on deviantART -- added it to my favourites of course!). The colour scheme is -wonderful-, the illumination magical and the theme beyond inriguing. All this in watercolour!... I can barely believe it! Congrats, lass, your skills are extraordinary. All the best to you! |

Your watercolors kill me, Anneth. Very good job with this one, definitely one of my favorites. Simple but powerful. The dragon in the background is awesome. |

I've always been a fan of "damage" on female warriors -- scars add history, weight, and believability. I feel her wince and it makes me cringe, but hey... you should see the other guy! |

Now this is amazing! The way you've rendered the hair, the skin, the background, the armor, it's all great. I love the expression on her face, you can almost see what she's thinking, and those scars are masterfully done. I'm impressed! |
