"This is a Fairy disguised as a human disguised as a fairy. But I think the wings betray her ;)
Shadow's poem:
She smiles, amused,
As she looks at you
From across the alley.
You know you're staring,
Gaping,
Being rude,
But you can't help yourself.
There's just something about her,
Something that screams 'different',
Something that whispers of magic,
Of mystery,
Of enticing glimpses
Of worlds you'll never see.
And somehow,
You think that she's
Feeling something similar
As she's looking at you.
Shadow" |

This piece really captures the sense of coming in from a sunlit street and finally shedding the disguise. I have to admit that I thought it was a watercolour piece as well ;) Anyways, its a lovely piece. |

Hey! At first glance I thought this was watercolor. Nice work. I like the light feel of it. Being that she's a fairy, it really matches the mood. I really like her face and posture. The BG is well done, too. Did you use photo reference? If you did, wonferful use of ref. If you didn't, I'm even more impressed! | | (Amarilli A.) |
Hi Dean! Yes I used a reference, a picture I took on purpose for the occasion. But I modifyed it slightly to my pleasure to give the 'feel' I wished. The original is darker, and the model (a friend) has normal clothes on, and she's holding on a normal pen instead of a mask ! ;) I also changed her face a bit, in order to make her less human and more 'ethereal'( to make a truthful 'portrait' I would have put more shadows for the nose etc....).
