I don't just comment because you're a Louise Cooper's fan :) Your work is stunning and this piece is just gorgeous. A Eau-forte by an ancient chinese master could not be more beautiful ! :) Bravo ! |

Good God, my first ever message here and it is from an insanely talented artist! And now I'm back off to Your gallery to gaze in awe. Thank you! :)

wow, the depth and atmosphere you've created is really GREAT. I like that arched bridge a lot. Keep it up...I wanna see more! |
| ( Soni) |
You want more? How very Oliver/Lestat of you, lol. Well when asked so nicely I can't possibly refuse, so thank you and big hugs to you, and I had better get working!

yeah I agree. the atmosphere and the depth are really nice. you've captured the haziness of mountains wreathed in cloud. You did a great job with those colors too. |

Thank you Bryan! I really do enjoy working with a restricted palette, and I can see that looking around the galleries here is going to be a wnderful way to learn more about colour use! (As well as everything else).

this is really a satisfying take on the subject. i think tolkein was so successful in luring us all in because he was so deft at alluding to, and not spelling out, aspects of his world, especially the nasty parts. magic and imagination are alive in this. great job. |

Wow! I'm (almost) speechless! Such great compliments, and coming from the artist who created that sexy vampire too, thank you! :)

A fine day indeed! Wonderful job on the mountain peaks, one can almost feel the cold, moist air! I love the transition from light at the top to deepest dark. All hazily impressionistic, yet I see a lot of detail! V v beautiful. |
| ( Soni) |
Thanks Stella! Between us we could illsustrate Lord of the Rings, you do the beautiful moving scenes and I do the spooky ones, lol :)

I would almost be tempted to say it looked serene, if I weren't so scared! :) |
| ( Soni) |
:D, Thanks Nell! Lol. The colours are a bit 'nice' for Mordor I think, but apparently Sauron had very good decorators.

Absolutely amazing! Scenery is not my strong suit, so I really love looking at images of epic scenery. It has such a majestic feel to it, I cant wait for more. Wow! ^_^ |
| ( Soni) |
What a fantastic thing to say and what a great thing to wake up to, thanks Paul! :)

Oh my goodness. I think this is my favorite. You are so talented...I am triping over my tongue trying to think of words...I guess "thank you" would be best. |
| ( Soni) |
Good grief, I've gone red, lol! Thank YOU Kay! You were quite right about putting up the link in the forum!

This piece is a knockout, from composition to technique. Everything is just right! It implies so much, and puts in just enough hints of detail that we (the viewers) fill in ourselves.. Very artistic! |
| ( Soni) |
Thank you so much Patrick! And that's an extra special compliment coming from such a talented chap! :)

Excellent inerpertation Soni, you really captured the atmosphere, so pleasingly dark, great job... |
| ( Soni) |
Thank you very much, I like the idea of something that is 'pleasingly dark'!

The best part about this imo is how
get so much result with so little. Very monochrome, very simple composition, little detail, but enormous atmosphere. Great stuff! |
| ( Soni) |
Ta very much :)
As for detailed stories from simple pictures, my next one will be just a white canvas - cleverly hidden inside will be a really dramatic snowstorm with white armoured knights fighting killer (white) polar penguins.

Scary 0.0 Eek! Looking at this makes me want to hide behind my keyboard 0.0 Normally Mordor is portrayed as a hell type thing, you know, fire, volcanoes, etc. The way you have done it makes it so much scarier, because it's as tho the one that rules there is a cold and heartless being, moreso than just a warlord. And the way there is bright light and yet it cannot penetrate the shadows, shows that evil lingers in every corner. Love it!! Very intense, my hat off to you. |
| ( Soni) |
Thank you!
I'm quite bowled over by such a compliment. I think this is how I envisioned Mordor when I first heard the story at the ripe age of four. ;)
