Oooh! This is so beautiful. The colors and shading are wonderful. | | (Marilyn Alice Boyle) |
Thank you. The colors are so striking that I've had people not even notice the little fairies until later.

Marilyn Nice to know that manners count for something in faeryland too! lol! beautifully coloured illustration, done with lovely details, specially the transparent wings and the little dew droplets, classy stuff! | | (Marilyn Alice Boyle) |
Thanks James. This idea occured to me when I was wandering around my gardens and admired the dewdrops on the petals. I imagined that the garden fairies must use them to bathe and wash up.

A Georgeous piece, dramatic colors,
eye catching. | | (Marilyn Alice Boyle) |
Thank you Isaac. It certainly is eye catching; the colors are almost neon. Just a happy accident. I didn't plan it that way.

Great work with the rose.Funny that we think so alike, I have also painted fairies among roses with raindrops and a little boy reading with a little dragon besides him. | | (Marilyn Alice Boyle) |
Yes, our minds do seem to wander the same paths. Thanks for coming.

The colours are beautiful! This reminds me of some of Peg Maltby's work (children's illustrator and author, Australian I think). By the way, thanks for all the lovely comments! | | (Marilyn Alice Boyle) |
Thank you Nicole. I have always wanted to illustrate children's books. I guess I'll just have to write and illustrate them myself for my little granddaughter.

I think it's beautiful the way you combined watercolor and acrylic in this picture; I really like the softly blended colors in the background. Great idea! | | (Marilyn Alice Boyle) |
Thank you Christy. That's the watercolor that gives that kind of lovely blend. I had this painting of a rose and thought it boring. So I added the fairies in acrylic.
