it reminds me a bit of Phil Hale's stuff, but that's probably because of the pose, plus he paints guts without shirts too ;)

No offense, but this image reminds me of another image I once saw either having to do with Medusa, or Cthullu By H.P. Lovecraft, just in the face that is.
In particular the way you painted the eyes, a big black sphere with a small white eye inside like that, it's powerful and disturbing.
It's cool that Epilogue uses this for the Horror Genre Thumbnail now.
