This one doesn't quite have the energy that your other work has. The lighting as usual is wonderful and so are the colors. But the characters seem a bit static for the situation. |

well the scene in my head was of merry looking down at the chasm, pippinlooking on in horror, ghimli shouting at legolas to stop crying like a sissy boy and aragorn holding back boromir before they both jump back onto the bridge to gandalfs aid. the next action scene i will take note and realy try to add more action in it.

Even without the title one can immediately identify the scene you`ve painted here, very readable interpretation of that LOTR scene! Your version of Gandalf looks just like I imagined him, I guess he`s mostly depicted more or less the same way, well long cape w/ long hat is cool so why change it ;D Even though you stayed close to Tolkin`s words there is plenty of your personal style and imagination in this piece. As for criticism, the Balrog seesm rather lame to me, not quite the ferocious monster I excpected, he looks like he is defeated already and sinking to the ground loosing his powers. I like the way you designed the Balrog, though. But my favorite part of this piece is Gandalf`s cape, very well done! |

thats how i imagine a balrog, a huge monstrouse muscular creature, half human and sort of bull, maybe a bigger scan would be beter, but elfwoods taking its time uploading new pics, maybe on that u might like the balrog beter since hes just a small red blob here.

I like how you depicted Gandalf, his cape and the lighting around him is really fabolous! Though I have to admit that the others look a little bit too... calm. Still, a marvelous piece of art! |
| (christiaan iken) |
but panick is so hard to draw..heheh.gimlis kinda panicking and merry and pippin are being gormless hobbits as usual where as boromir and aragorn pretty much see thebalrog as a challenge and i dont think they would be scared in a panicked way.just legolas and gimli, and the hobbits not konwing whats happening, but maybe a hand thrown up in fear or terror from the hobbits might have helped.
