Marie Bird 2001-10-03 Oh how wonderful, even if it's an older pic, it's fabulous! The unicorn looks a bit edgy here, perhaps he wants to be part of the scene with the girl and the fawn, but not wanting to reveal himself! He's just come across this glade in his forest and found the maid and the doe in the sunlight streaming through a break in the leafy canopy high overhead. He's not seen a maid before and he's both drawn to her and nervous about a stranger. Just looking at the unicorn, I can see so many subtle colors and details--excellent!   (Marilyn Alice Boyle) Even in my earlier work, I liked it best when I used a lot of color with anything that was white. I found it made the white come alive. The same with deep shadows; I never use black. I always use a combination of colors to create my darks.
