hey the simiarlity with rojo is that uve painted a beautiful girl; but i think thats where it ends because his medium is acrylic and airbrush and urs is digital with this painting; and also ur styles; its awesome; where do u get ur models from ; do u work them from a composite of magazine images; or from ur head; or do u ahve a model for reference; i love the pose; very unangelic but i supose thats the meaning of the picture: very sexy: |
| (Uwe Jarling) |
hi christiaan , thank you so much, now you have some good questions :-) - ok first i sayd this thing with royo cause this piece is really very inspired by royo, he did a very similar one, ok i used another model and pose and a little different colores, another background and all - but the all in all feeling is very similar to royos piece - this was the reason whay i said this royo thing :-) -
ok now to the model :-) - this is again scetched from a poser model, so i need no magazines or such and i need no living models (but living models are still the best!!) - but with poser you can pose a human figure the way you want, ok the poser models looks very plastic, but as i know a little about human anatomy it is easy to scetch a figure from such a poser model, and for me it works - poser really helps me a lot - so i can pose now poses as i want and i can be sure the anatomy is mostly right --- and - lol - so i could do this very unangelic pose, which sure was the meaning of the piece ;-) -- right now i just play around with all kind of digital medium, just to see what can be done digitally - and i have to say the computer is a very very powerful tool, with endless possibilitys - and another thing for me is, to me it is not ver

; wow; never heard of poser; sounds like a very useful program especially if you are doing fantasy; i agree a real life model is the best; or having a willing girlfriend works as well;i dont think i will every try computer art serously just because you cant teach a dog new tricks; but some of the computer art ive seen done by amazing artists like yourself does make me curious to the whole medium; bbut how on earth do you stop yourself hurting your eyes if your doing artwork on a screen; |
| (Uwe Jarling) |
thanks again christiaan - yes at the moment i try out as much digital programms as possible - a really mighty tool the computer - but you are right to work only on the screen is a bit strange - and another thing is :-) - if you finish a traditional painting you can hang it on the wall - you really get problems if you try this with a digital painting - lol - think about all the monitors hanging around the wall - hehe - but i think the possibilytis with the digital medium deserves it to give them a try - thats what i do at the moment i try as much in digital as possible - for me the medium is not as important, as most of my pictures are for print, but i think a traditional piece has just more charme ;-)btw. same with a real life model ;-)

Oh, man, Uwe! this is awesome, her pose mirrors her mood exactly! beautiful fantasy art, I love it! |
| (Uwe Jarling) |
thanks james, this is what i wanted to achieve with her pose - seems there is not much interesting to do if one is a fallen angel, maybe she should read a good book - hehe -

Oh I think you have your own style...Yes this is a bit Royo..so is my work. I think if you like Royo he just sneaks in.
Interesting about doing the black and white and then coloring....I have tried that on a few of my works and it does work well. Wow I love your textures. All your work...I am having so much fun visiting. |
| (Uwe Jarling) |
yes it works very well to start in grayscale and than adding the color - great to hear you had fun visiting my gallery - that´s what art should do - bringing some fun to the viewer - thanks so much again kay :-)

I plan on owning a copy of poser someday for this very purpose of using the models for reference. I can imagine how well it must keep the lighting and proportions correct, as well as anatomy. It is so difficult for me to do this sort of thing in my head alone. Aarrgh! I have to have poser!! Great pic by the way, love the red color pallette! |
| (Uwe Jarling) |
hi christopher - think it is a good plan, poser does work fine for me, i am just not good enough to use poser as a standalone programm, but i know some people doing stunning stuff using only poser - for me it is just a good helping tool - but i needed really a long time to get my first pose right, cause poser is not really a toy, it is a not to easy programm to learn, i just can pose in poser but its possibilitys are endless, i just have not enough time to go deeper into the programm, maybe someday ;-) - but if you know how to handle it for your special needs it really can be a very very useful tool -

speedingslug This is the sexyist painting for me love it . Is there a pair of eyes in the sky behind here ( dragon like ) or am I just slightly mad . ? |
| (Uwe Jarling) |
Well this picture was one of my first pieces as I started with digital media, so I am sure I could do much better now, and I am sure as well that I will do more like this in future ;-)Â…
