What a gorgeous illustration Linda! Beautiful Job! The delicate touch on those wings is really impressive.
Scratching head here on why some fool chose this of all illustrations to be negative about. :) |

What a gorgeous, etheral painting...I really dig your work! the decorative border is a nice touch also. I couldn't help but notice that you have 0 years of professional work experience, I certainly hope that is starting to change! |

Beautiful One of the prettiest, if not thee prettiest fae paintings I've ever seen. The delicate features and careful use of colors, lights and shadows in your paintings are astoundingly beautiful. In particular, I enjoy the highlights, sparks of light and wonderful textures -- smooth skin, silken hair, satiny, transparent materials, tiny beads. You should be a wealthy and famous artist by now. |

You are so amazing, Linda. Looking at your art makes me want to give up completely and yet inspires me at the same time. It makes me feel emotions I've never felt before. It sounds so cheesy, but looking at your artwork is like falling in love for the first time. :) GORGEOUS!!!! |

Well, you may find this interesting... I had a picture of my own in the "pending" bin which (however immodestly) I am sure would have been accepted. However, after seeing this image, I just pulled it -- you have inspired me to do better, and try to aspire to your standard. Thanks for making me work harder! |
| (Linda Bergkvist) |
That is one of the most beautiful compliments that I've ever received. Not that you pulled your picture, but that I can inspire someone to do better. (though, in all honesty, I really love your work =] )

Kimberly Loo 2002-05-30 |
holy moly this is totally...ethrethal. truly something out of this world. So soft and beautiful. It reminds me of that Byron poem "she walks in beauty like the night of cloudless climes and starry skies, and all that's best of dark and bright meet in her aspect and her eyes. one shade the more, one ray the less, hath wave in every raven tress...ok sorry that's all of it that comes to mind at the moment. but i really do love this image! |

You don't do all of this in photoshop do you? I didn't think you did, but I've seen so many say "good PS pic" I'm terribly scared that you did. You are the best Renderer that I've seen, and definitely deserve the top ranking.
Honestly, looking at this, and all of your work, makes me totally and utterly depressed. Not because your work is horrible but because of my own selfishness. "How can I even ever HOPE to come close to being as talented and experienced as Linda Bergkvist?!" I can now ask myself. (it used to be Stephanie Law's name inserted where your name is now) Being the very cynical girl that I am, I tend to think such things as this. And its not like I just sit around, mopping and feeling sorry for myself, I actually do practice my own techniques as well as try others all the time. You might say "well its because I've have so much more experience that you, Deary" (if you use that term) But the fact of the matter is that your are not all that much older than I, and Adobe programs haven't been around THAT long for you to gain a whole lot of years on me. Goodness this sounds like I'm whining, and I don't mean to be, I just wanted you to know that I'm not depressed because I hate your work, but depressed because I am inspired by it and frustrated with my own limitations. I know that the main key is to keep on breaking through ones own limitations, but at times I just don't know what I can do to excel.
I would ask you to go to my gallery and tell me what you think of my own works, but I am a newbie to this site and all of my stuff has been rejected and/or still in the pending folder. Apparently Stephanie doesn't think my work is good enough for this site. (which again is frustrating) But hopefully, someday I will come up with something that will be approved and maybe, just maybe, if you ever remember this one girls name and you find it in your heart to check it out, please lend me your constructive criticism.
You hear this all the time but your work is absolutely beautiful. Your work inspires me and discourages me at the same time. The immaculate images I see in my mind I cannot recreate, anywhere, to share with the world. But its comforting to know that you can recreate images you see in your mind's eye, and hopefully, with practice and instruction, one day I might be able to do the same.
P.S. Sorry for the novel |

omg where did you learn!? I mean, the only thing saying anything about how you compose these pics is "digital"! but where did you learn!? I wanna learn! ;)
but , really beautiful work! I would like to comment on every single piece, but beside the fact that I don´t have the time, there´s also the fact I wouldn´t be able to tell you anything you haven´t heard before. So.. well.... let me just say I love all of your pictures, and hopefully I´ll sometime be able to compose something that´s remotely as beautiful as this! :/ (good luck to me...) |

Don't know if you know or care but this image is being used by a shirt company called "Mountain". It has been altered in the wings but the rest is the same.
Maybe you are aware and sold them the rights. You can see it in a catalogue called "On the Lighter Side". It's full of cheap items, corny statuettes, Chachkas, "Kitch" and Guacamole". |
