This is definatly not "Fantasy" but it's a terrific portrait of Stephanie! (Maybe it pays to suck up to the editors? LOL..) |
| (Lipták László) |
I'm a poor guy:) But I promise if you write some good comments and click to my all pictures every day 3 times I'll draw your portrait too:) Of course I can only make your pic if I'll be ready with all of editor's and my visitor's portrait:)) Seriously: I respect the editors, but I hate the Top List, the Editor's Pick and every discriminating thing. Only one ambition could be in a REAL community: the power of inspiration and togetherness! I think the ART is not an aim. Art is a tool. A tool of communication... And it is more interactive than the language, the sex, and the connections. Because the art can't lie, and it's source always comes from the heart. Very banal words, but I believe in them...

Of course it counts, Stephie is a fantasy artist (as I assume really everyone knows) and thus it`s a fantasy picture :) Isn`t my logic just mind-blowing? Now seriously, I think it`s more than just a normal portrait, the tattoo on her face might be a detail but it shows that Merm put more creativity into this than just copying a photo. Sometimes little things can have great effect. The white rectangle around the oval disturbs me though, guess it would be nicer if everything outside the oval was in the same color as the Epilogue background, in order to set off the round form in a more pleasing way. By te way, I think it`s awesome that Epilogue artists care for each other, seing themselves more as friends than rivals. Even though the questionable stats try to endanger the rather non-competitive atmosphere here. Unlike other forums where trendy sunny boys show off their latest technical candy. Unite the galleries! :D |

Fantasy?! First sorry for my english, I'd like to try to spell my reasons out, but perhaps my english skill will be not enough. Fantasy or not?:)) Good question. Without any purpose, I'd like to ask something: What's the different between my "Steph" pic and the most L.B. pictures? I could show you about half million Linda Bergkvist pics that were made in similar style: a face without any sign of THE REAL fantasy-like concept. Yes I know: I'm not Linda, it could be my biggest blame:)) (anyway I respect her secret:) technic). I would like to know why everyone thinks Linda's drawings are more fantasy looking than mine "Steph" pic. I HAVE some:)) picture what made in fantasy-like style. Ok. Forget this "L.B." example, and see my real reason, that's why I'd like to put this picture to my gallery. I deeply respect Steph Law!!! She gave me lot of inspirations, and I think her works are THE ARTWORKS! She is a REAL fantasy artist! I am not afraid to say: some artist would learn from her. Not only the technic and skills, but the fantastic personality. She is nice, helpful, and great friend. There are some "artist" who things that he/she is an untouchable god/goddess, and they can't stand critics. Steph is the best example for an artist, who does everything for the community. She is in almost all(many times nonprofit) project, and she is on the Epilogue chat almost all day, she is very friendly with the new faces, and I could continue this list... Ok. That's enough... She is my muse, and I tried to express my respect with this simply picture... If you think it is not a really fantasy picture, then you have right. But my many fantasy picture got and will get the inspiration from her works... Only this is what I think... Once again: sorry for my english:) |

Beautiful Liptak... I am glad to finally see a great artist out there who is not concerned completely with Getting number 1 on the "top artists list".Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.Though,I do often find a beautiful fantasy look to lindas art,Art is something you draw for yourself, and noone else. You draw to express your feelings and imagination, not to be chosen for the top artists list.Stephanie Law is a true inspiration, thats all there is to say.She pays such attention to the detail in all of her works,as do you.You portrayed her wonderfully Liptak, and I look forward to seeing more of your art. |

Yes... Steph is fantastic! Every time when I see her pictures I learn something, and every time I talk with her I learn too:) I think this is the REAL inspiration...:)

True fantasy This is a great portrait of Steph... Liptak !...Your right, the Lady is very approachable, and has given me good advice on at least one occasion. Her work has always inspired me to fantasy, we, that inhabit the woods, she is fantasy personified. Anyway we all know that Steph is an elfsprit, thatÂ’s only half in this world, and half in the twilight world, sometimes taking the form of a fox, or a solar wind, that spirits her away to paint the northern stars in ever changing colours ....., there I go again see.... SheÂ’s weaved her spell on me ...! |

Terry!!! Wow, thank your attention! I'm really glad for you saw my gallery! I LOVE your works, you are fantastic LotR artist, and your visit is great respect for me! Thank your comment, and welcome in the club:)

Beautiful Wow, this is really good Liptak. Steph is my favorite artist, her style has been one of my greatest influences, and it was because of her art that I realized that I could pursue art as something more than just a hobby. Stephanie has been an inspiration to many artist both in Epilogue and Elfwood and this protrait portrays her wonderfully. |

You have a good sense for shapes and this portrait is elegantly modeled. Her hair is so stylish! |

Beautiful.
I like the smoothness of the acrylic. Is it airbrushed are do you spend insane amounts of time smoothing the paint? Very nice, and it looks just like her! |
| (Lipták László) |
I don't use airbrush (or very seldom). the trick is the amount of the water what you add to the acrilics.

I love this portrait, her hair almost has an ancient feel to it...Greek-like I would believe. And the designs on her face are a unique touch. Great work. :) |
| (Lipták László) |
Thank you. Interesting:) Many people like this pic. Hmmm... It was only 1 hour work, and it didn't need any complex technic or idea. It is only a portrait pic with some design element. It is no more and no less. Interesting:) What is the art? What kind of art is more popular? Why do the people like a pic? I don't know really. To build a complex, well-designed, unique pic is more interesting and enjoyable for me, than an ultra-realistic pic. Ok. I like very much this picture (and Step:))), but I'm not too pride for it's art part. A simple portrait pic, nothing else...

What an odd argument. I don't think this portrait or any of Linda's art looks like normal people at all. This and all of hers all have a lot of fantastic flare to it. Don't think I've ever seen any people that look like this in real life other than maybe one of those weird fantasy meets, though I did instantly recognize this as Steph.
As for the sucking up part... well, I've known Steph since far before she ever became an editor and you drawing her portrait didn't strike me as "sucking up" at all. But that's just me. |
