Nice one Pat! Really captures that Lovecraft feel. |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
Thanks Grant! I've been inspired by Lovecraft since my late teens, and it's nice to get a chance to do these Cthulhu pieces when I can. I really love your new piece too, by the way. :)

Hey, thanks Andreas! "Unpleasant" it my middle name. Which really explains why I have issues with my parents.

Wow..This came out great Patrick!! Awesome misty and wet effects and the mask stands right out , Im sure there is a story behind that..Ill be keeping an eye out for it...very cool work pal... |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
Thanks Tom! Not much of a story I'm afraid... This guy, Nyarlathotep, uses various "avatars" to do whatever it is he's doing, so the game set is called "Masks of Nyarlathotep". So when I was asked to do the creature I cleverly included a mask! :) I tried to make it vaguely disturbing, as befits a Lovecraft character...

Lovely and slimy - I particularly like the watercolour effects, and the way some of the... er... thing blends into the background. |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
I like slime! Thanks, Simon. :)

Thats another fine piece, patrick!. I have a question?. What is 1 + 1?....no, hang on thats not it. I meant to ask wether the stars reflected in the puddle have a double meaning for dreaming (as we do at night time ;).Absolutely porktastic patric. |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
Hi Marley - thanks! The stars were an interesting thing, mostly added because this character is sort of "cosmic" - that is, not Earth-bound" - and yet he wasn't supposed to be just floating around in space. He specifically lives in a "cave" somewhere. So, I tried shoehorning these things together as best I could by adding the reflected stars. But now that I think about it, I like your idea better. So let's think of it your way - metaphor, that's the ticket!

Only just now saw this...it is one drippy, slippery cool piece! |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
Thanks, Ken! That's how I feel when I have a cold, so it's kind of a self-portrait. ;)
