Glad to see new work from you, Patrick - and it was worth waiting :) |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
You're always so kind Rita - thanks!!

Great work as always! I love the dynamic lighting :) |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
Lighting is the most challenging and fun part of a picture for me (as I'm sure you've noticed!) Thanks!

Matthew Bradbury 2006-03-26 |
I love the lighting, very effective and beautifully rendered. It really stood out from the rest of the thumbnails. Great work and an inspiration. |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
I'm very happy to inspire Matthew - thanks so much!

Natascha Roeoesli 2006-03-25 |
love that lighting Really cool work on the light - her face and the clothing is just spot on :) |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
Thanks, Natascha! I did have fun with that, and it was sort of the "hook" for the picture... I think every picture needs at least one unusual/interesting thing, and the lighting was "it" in this one.

Ahh, fantastic patrick. look at that bowl of soup. helps with clearing nose blockages i heard. Hah nah, fantastic ambience, the lighting makes the piece for sure. |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
You're right, Marley - she was suffering from a nasty head-cold, but five minutes over the steaming soup and she was as right as rain. Amazing stuff! Glad you liked it, pal.

I'm surprised at something here, usually I see more greens in your mysterious looking work. The lighting is mighty neat and I see a great balance between textured background and non textured woman. The two relate well that way. |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
Hopefully I throw a curve ball here and there, Chris! :) And I actually went in at the end and layered more texture onto the BG just to separate them more. Glad you liked it - thanks!

Bloody computer, I forgot I had to log back in since deleting my old cookies: the comment on greens and textures was from myself :) |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
Oh, Chris - I know you artist types, always forgetting things...

Andreas Knoll 2006-03-26 |
just WOW, like Rita said it was worth the wait. |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
It's always good hearing from you, Andreas. That's how I feel whenever I see one of your new pieces, too - worth the wait.

Walt Bayless 2006-03-27 |
Man! I love her eyes and her hair, but the whole piece is really slick! Outstanding anatomy work, Patrick. |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
Thanks, Walt - glad you like how it came out. The eyes were inspired by Betty Davis!

Fantastic light and shade work, Patrick! no surprise really, you are a master of mood and atmosphere as well as colour and light! Marvellous! |
| (Patrick McEvoy) |
You're quite nice to say so, James! I don't know if I'm a Master of those things yet (I think that would be Christophe Vacher!!) but I'm certainly trying hard. :)

Hey Patrick, did you think the un-logged guest from 2006-03-26 was me? I noticed that you wrote "Chris!" in your reply kind of unexpectedly. Well, it wasn't me, but I wish it was because his commentary was really intelligent! I guess I have developed a reputation for being "incognito" around here haven't I. Oh well, one day I will submit some more Epilogue quality art again and come out of the shadows |

I had the honor of viewing N.C. Wyeth's (and family's) art at the Naples Museum of Art in Florida recently, it was obvious that they maintain a heritage of solid illustration skills in their family. It was really beau |

N.C. Wyeth = best illustrator ever

While there, I found out that there is Apparently a debate about the validity of Illustration versus fine art, and whether the two are interchangeable. Well, I believe that illustration is a tool, like anything else, to express one's imagination, and that its just as valid as any fine art painting. Well, lastly, I |

Message Continued Part 3 ...admire, your ability to quickly produce successful, attractive high quality art, and I think that N.C. Wyeth would say the same. Cya next post ;)
God...The Epilogue Comment bug sucks. |
