"Phoenix is an elemental faery, a fae creature born of her own ashes. She is immortal, yet dies a cyclic death after the passing of one year and one day. She is tied to the lifespan of the phoenix moth who after their mating and laying of their eggs turn to fiery raindrops falling from the sky in their tens of thousands. When they die so does she. Phoenix is consumed by flame and is not reborn again until the hatching of the new Phoenix catepillars.
Her death lasts but a few weeks, and leaves her refreshed and invigorated, but Phoenix is forced to keep her death and rebirth a secret from all for if her ashes are disturbed before the new moths are hatched she will not be reborn and she and the moths will be no more. Their shared beauty will fade to but a memory.

All your art Michele, I love all the art you have showing. It is nice to see the deep rich color you use. I get tired of seeing watercolors that are all washed out. Great job. James | | (Michele-lee Phelan) |
James, thank you for stopping by to look through my gallery. I agree with your sentiments. I love watercolours, but I also love rich, vibrant colour so I tend to not dilute my washes as much and I layer several different colours over each other to create a richer feel to the works.

breath-taking hey eyes are absolutely beautiful. I love the colours in her hair, and the inticate details of the butterflies. You have really mastered your media. |
