Artwork Description

I've always been fascinated by the image of ravens, and to me the raven is a symbol of both wisdom and death, and for the ancient celts, a signal for moving forward on the path of life. The symbol on the top strip of what the raven is standing, the loopy thing, is an ancient symbol for the process of life and death and rebirth. The symbol on the strip under that is the ankh, the Egyptian symbol for life, and life after death. The face in this is me, and is my interaction with these mythological and ancient themes. Why I fashion myself with bugs in my hair, is because I like bugs and no one else does, so you can interpret that however you like.

the painting, That Look, caught my attention. It looks like me, 35 years ago. Then the rest of the site blew me away. I write science fiction as Marie Ming. My name of birth is Rengstorff. I paint as Misty. Do you also see a few overlaps? Goose bumps.

Art at its best.
