Artwork Description

I haven't posted in a long time, have I? Sorry! Here are a couple of covers for the "Fall of Cthulhu" series which I did last summer for Boom! studios, and was printed earlier this year. I highly recommend this series, even though I only did the covers - it's very entertaining and creepy.

Hey Tom - thanks for the kind words. As you know, I love doing the fun lighting!

Great work Patrick, I always enjoy seeing how you handle lighting, nice strong presence, the red adds some nice menace to the feel for me...

You're too kind, Matthew. Thanks!

So bold with the colours but it works so well. That's good fantasy art! Done by a great fantasy artist : )

Thank you, Timothy! You're right, I guess it could go either way. Smile He's supposed to be standing just outside, though, because I think those kind of barn doors usually open outward.

Thanks, Rita. For covers, especially, I like to do something that would stand out on the racks. Hopefully this one was successful in that.

Your color choice is just awesome!

reall nice straight forward work. can I ask if he’s outside, coming in, or the reverse. Not that it matters.

Thank you Alice. Yes, I wanted the horse to look even scarier than the rider. Smile

Thanks! I often like to see if I can create mood with primary colors, just because you don't always see that.

It's indeed a great effect! gives that eery feeling something not so good is going to happen. The horse looks mean too.

Wow! Blue wood with red light behind. Very nice effect. Great picture!

Art at its best.
