How do you keep white spots (like the lightning) white? In a point as small as that on a piece, I've always seemed to end up with a pale greay and a few smudges...

That is a good picture, I like the way you used shading to add details. The lighting was also good. I give this picture an A+

Sometimes, I use cotton or my finger to smudge, but it's not systematic. You have to know when to stop.

awsome Chrisopher! i love the lightning, you render them really well. i have a quick question. Do you smudge and blend your pencil work with a stump or anything like that? thanks
