Only one functioning Warbot survives the battle. It can be seen here, limping through the frozen carnage, on it's way back to base where it will recieve repairs and be ready for a new battle soon.

Thanks Eric - Yeah you are probably right about shadow use. The main robot was drawn many years ago and I only recently revisited it to 'complete' it. Working a scene around the existing robot proved more difficult than I imagined and I did have a struggle with trying to stop the main bot 'melting' into the background hill. I've earmarked this picture as one I intend to digitally colour as I think colour will help me differentiate the layers.
Excellent graphite work. My only comment relates to the use of shadow. I think that the utilization of ground shadowing of the robot characters in the foreground would have truely been the key to bringing forth the dynamics of this pic.
Cheers Bill. The attention to detail gets a bit easier when like this one, the paper is a3 sized. =]-
I'm quite happy with the clouds, everytime I do a cloudy sky I learn a bit more about how to make them look more real.
Hi Anthony, great action scene. I really like your tight rendering and attention to detail (something I need to work on
). Strangely enough it's the cloud formations that really do it for me, lovely pencils
