Artwork Description

This was the cover for the Elric rpg coming out soon. Stormbringer is the soul eating sword which gives Elric his amazing amount of strength and I really wanted to try and represent this giving him a kind of strength and ease holding the massive sword.

A great piece of art, indeed!
Nevertheless, one thing disturbs me: Elric just seems too human...

I quite like the depiction of the sword and armor, and i like the background. Although the face doesn't quite match up the description of Elric in the book i don't think, i do like the painting.

Hard to compete with Robert Gould's original Elric, but this one is nicely done. I do agree with the flatness of the background.

Heya Chris, just found out today that I am going to be doing some Elric work and I love seeing yours because it really gives me inspiration and something to shoot for. As I have said before this is a great piece and I am glad to see it here!

I really like this painting. The details are nice and I am digging those colors, but I can't help but get a bit distracted by the flatness of the background.
I realized that you didn't want it to compete with Elric, but it looks too flat, like he's standing in front of a stage back drop.

Love it and I've missed your posts. I really like the contrast in skin tones between Elric and the slain men.

Shame on me! Chris, I have never actually read any of Michael Moorcock's books...but I feel that I have because I've seen so many artworks based on his creations, Yours is one of the best I've seen! SUPERB work my friend Smile

The picture is great. But as a person who have read the book I mst point out you didnt capture soemthing that is very important, and that is the fact that Eric actually is the slave to the sword.

Art at its best.
