Artwork Description

An original watercolor piece created while I attended the Art Institute of Seattle - another dream image brought to life. With the exception of my color deviation on her eyes (I couldn't resist), this was entirely colored using only one shade of Dr. Martin's radiant dye in Saddle Brown, accented with oil pencil.
Watercolor, digitally enhanced

hello, it's that girl who said she was a writer more than an artist again. Once more one of your creations has inspired me to write a background for this peice. She has such a mysterious air about her. The way she is looking at you over her shoulder, suggests that she has just slightly turned for a last glance behind before walking away. I love the greemn eyes in the sea of "saddle" tones. It brings out her eyes so much more and adds to the alur of the character. Thanx so much for sparking my creativity and streaching me as a writer.

Now that's a reference I haven't heard in a long time, and certainly a new perspective on this painting. I hadn't considered that at the time, but I can certainly visualize that now. Thank you! Smile

"Desert Queen" plus sable hair and green eyes, and to me this becomes a portrait of the Lady Jessica before the spice altered her eyes. Wonderful. Your gallery is getting bookmarked, stat.

She is so very beautiful... Wish I could create faces like that!

Thank you! Yes, it is watercolor - save for a few accents in colored pencil. The original painting is 11 X 14" on Bristol board. Smile

This is watercolour??!!! Wow, you surely have a great technique if this is water colour. She is really elegant, yet with a strength that says "dont mess with me" I love it, keep up the good work...

This piece is wonderful. I have so many problems with this view of the human face, and you captured it. I love the colors you used. Great piece.

I like her green eyes, it's a subtle contrast to the rest of the picture. She has a very misterious smile Smile.
